Parking garage lighting, controlled in groups, managed from one screen
Group-sensor parking lights brighten the fixtures ahead of a moving vehicle and return to standby once it passes. The central monitoring screen brings group setup, scheduled dimming, fault detection with work orders and energy estimates into one place. This 1m26s demo walks through the full flow.
Group control & central monitoring demo
The video is a simulated walkthrough of the monitoring screen. Power, cost and fixture figures shown are illustrative examples; actual savings depend on fixture count and operating conditions on site.
Five functions shown in the demo
Lights follow the vehicle
When a 5.8GHz doppler group sensor detects a car, fixtures ahead in the same group light up too, so the driver sees the way in advance. Passed zones return to standby automatically.
Installation & group setup
Place fixtures on the floor plan and assign zones to groups. Sensors linked over BLE Mesh learn the direction of travel with self-learning groups.
Group control
Change on-level, standby level and hold time per group and confirm the result on the monitoring screen.
Scheduled dimming
Set different standby levels for rush hours and late night to stay safe while cutting unnecessary lighting.
Fault detection & work orders
No driver output, lost communication, partial LED failure and LED over-temperature are flagged by fixture number, then sorted into remote fix, site visit or scheduled inspection with a work order.
Why group control for parking garages
Limits of standalone sensors
Fixtures that react individually only light the spot above the car. Group control lights the path ahead for better perceived brightness and safety.
Savings from standby dimming
Instead of switching fully off, fixtures hold a low level when no one is around, keeping CCTV and pedestrians safe while reducing energy use.
Faster maintenance
Crews know which fixture failed and why before they go, which cuts patrol checks and repeat visits.
FAQ
How does group control for parking garage lighting work?+
Each fixture has a 5.8GHz doppler group sensor, linked to the others over BLE Mesh. When one sensor detects a vehicle, it signals the rest of its group so fixtures ahead light up too, then they return to standby after the hold time.
Can it be retrofitted to existing parking lights?+
If the fixture cover is non-metallic, the sensor module can be embedded as a replacement. It depends on the fixture and driver, so send drawings or photos and we will advise.
What does fault detection report?+
The demo shows no driver output, lost communication, partial LED failure and LED over-temperature, with the fixture number and location, sorted into remote fix, site visit or scheduled inspection.
Are the savings in the video real figures?+
No. Power and cost figures on screen are illustrative examples. Actual savings depend on fixture count, wattage, operating hours and standby settings; we can calculate them for your site.
Can we source just the sensor module?+
Yes. We supply 5.8GHz doppler modules standalone, including the JA58K1(G)-3123 for group control (KC R-R-Ja2-JA58K1G-3123), and offer luminaire OEM/ODM. Samples are available.
Share your fixture count and floor plan and we will review the group layout and expected savings.
